Located in the centre of the Comox Valley, Puntledge RV Campground is minutes from river, ocean, lake, stream, mountains, farmland, orchards, forest... if you can think it, CVRD likely has it! This prime location is perfect for whatever your hearts desire - arts & culture, festivals and outdoor activities of all sorts. The salmon run is particularly exciting as thousands of salmon return to spawn. This event is truly one of a kind and the memories of the cycle of nature unfolding as it has for millennia will stay with you for years. Particularly renowned for it's fishing, you can't get closer than camping at Puntledge River to capture the experience first hand!

River Adventures
Comox Valley is well known for its rivers, and at Puntledge RV Campground, you get front row access to find out why! Bring your own tube, or rent one at Blue Toque Sports, put in up the river at 'Tuber's Trail' (or one of the many other accessible spots), and drift down this lovely river like the locals!
Switch it up from the river and visit the ocean or lake for paddle boarding, swimming, boating, and more.
Whales are found year round on whale watching tours departing from Comox Marina.

Coho, Tyee Chinook, Chum and more - Experience First Class Fishing in Comox Valley!
Anglers of all types make the annual trip to Puntledge RV Park to cast their line in the Puntledge River, just yards from the campsite.
Enjoy year-round fishing in all of Comox waters:
Spring/Summer: As summer approaches, the fish arrive in abundance to our oceans, with calm waters and warm weather bringing Coho, Sockeye, Chum and Pinks, as well as Tyee-class Chinook (over 30 lbs).
Summer/Fall: The ideal period for Tyee-class Chinook and Coho (typically weighing between 10-25 lbs) is from mid August to October. Summer is also the perfect time for fly-fishing Summer Sea Run Cutthroat Trout in the River!
Winter/Spring: December through March is perfect for large Chinook (winter springs), that hang around and feed on our abundant Herring Stocks all winter (average 10-15 pounds). Winter fishing in the Puntledge River includes world class Sea Run Cutthroat Trout and Winter Steelhead fishing on the fly, and all catch and release world class. Note: There is no salmon fishing in the river after October.

The Salmon is known to be the giver of life to the K'ómoks people. It is also a symbol of prosperity and new beginnings.
Salmon holds a significant place in the culture of the K'ómoks First Nation in Comox Valley, BC. It is not only a vital food source but also a symbol of life sustenance, deeply intertwined with their traditions and spiritual beliefs. The K'ómoks people have relied on salmon for generations, celebrating its return each year ceremonies that honor the fish and the waters. This connection to salmon reflects their respect for nature and the importance of maintaining a balanced relationship with the environment.
